Boston Magazine bestowed its "Best of Boston Award" nine consecutive times naming the 225-capacity venue "Best Jazz Club" and in 1998 inducted The Regattabar into its "Best of Boston Hall of Fame". The Regattabar has also been named the "Best Jazz Club" by both the Boston Phoenix and the Improper Bostonian. During the last 20 years, the Regattabar has become the leading jazz club not only in Boston, but also in New England.   Names like AHMAD JAMAL, BO DIDDLEY, BRANFORD MARSALIS, CHARLIE HUNTER, DIZZY GUILESPIE, WYNTON MARSALIS and RUTH BROWN have all headlined at the Regattabar.
